2k19 mcu exchange

Dear writer:
Thank you for writing for me! I'm really looking forward to this exchange. My apologies for getting this letter up after assignments went out!
General: My DNWs are A/B/O, ageplay, character bashing, humiliation, infidelity, issuefic, non-canon character deaths, non-canon dubcon or noncon, pregnancy, scat/watersports/etc, second person POV, unhappy endings (melancholy or bittersweet is fine, but please no darkfic or whump-no-comfort), unrequested AUs that change the canon setting, and untagged self-harm or substance abuse (either is fine, but I need a warning.)
Some general likes are character studies, characters working together, competency and competency kink, first time/getting together fic, hurt/comfort, loyalty kink, mutual pining, mutual respect between characters who don’t get along, partnerships, seemingly unrequited pining, snark/banter, and touch starvation.
For ships I've requested that break up a canon relationship, handle things however you see fit, as long as there's no infidelity, poly, or character death/character bashing.
I've tried to offer a few notes/prompts for each ship I requested, but please don't feel limited by them. I really love all the characters & ships I've prompted, and I'll be delighted with anything that steers clear of my DNWs.
If you want to ignore Endgame, handwave Endgame, set the fic in the timeline where Thanos was killed before he could reach Earth: please feel free! Lastly, I've prompted a few of these ships for past exchanges, including the hurt/comfort exchange and fandom5k. (Some of my ship notes/prompts are cribbed therefrom -- apologies if anything looks too familiar!)
Stephen Strange/Wong
I love Wong and Stephen's dynamic in the Doctor Strange movie, and their easier rapport in Infinity War was delightful. It makes me wonder how, exactly, their relationship developed between DS and IW. Endgame only made me ship these two more.
I can see Stephen/Wong starting as a weird friends-with-benefits thing -- being a master of the mystic arts kind of precludes casual dating, I'd assume. I'd also be super into Stephen/Wong pre-ship fic, where it's clear they're drifting towards being together but things haven't quite aligned for them yet. (Especially since I see both Stephen and Wong as being incredibly driven by their responsibilities/duties to the mystic arts.)
Karl Mordo/Stephen Strange
Teacher/student dynamics are a personal favorite, so for the first half of Doctor Strange, I was so into Mordo/Strange... and then Mordo's heel turn in the post-credits scene caught me totally by surprise. I like pretty much every flavor of Mordo/Strange: canon divergence where Mordo leaves the order but doesn't become a villain; Mordo turning back to the side of good post-canon; Mordo staying a villain with a "that's my enemy; no one else touches him" kind of relationship with Stephen; Mordo/Strange set during the Doctor Strange movie while Stephen is still struggling to adapt to his new life... I love it all.
I know this is an enemies ship, so I should note that while I've DNWed unhappy endings/darkfic, I'm by no means expecting a happy reconciliation for Mordo and Strange (though I would love that too!!) Anything between these two would be great, so long as it doesn't end with Mordo killing Strange or Mordo managing to defeat and indefinitely imprison Strange. (I have soft spots in particular for Strange defeating and peaceably imprisoning Mordo, maybe by limiting his magic, or Mordo and Strange temporarily allying themselves to fight a common enemy, before letting each other walk away.)
Tony Stark/Stephen Strange
I loved Tony and Stephen's rapport in Infinity War so much. I love the way they're so similar, but they don't know that about each other, so their weird, prickly banter is all the more loaded. (Stephen snapping Unlike everyone else in your life, I don't work for you is so deliciously ironic given Stephen's arc in the Doctor Strange movie...)
For Tony/Stephen, I'd love canon divergence where Tony manages to survive the snap/the events of Endgame play out somewhat differently/etc...but I also love that Stephen knew that he'd be sending Tony to his death by giving up the time stone, but that it was the only way.
James "Rhodey" Rhodes/Nebula
Every minute Rhodey and Nebula spent together during Endgame was a great one. Most of the ideas I have for them are based on Endgame and its events playing out how they did in the movie, but anything for them in a canon divergence would be delightful as well.
Thank you for writing for me! I'm really looking forward to this exchange. My apologies for getting this letter up after assignments went out!
General Likes/DNWs

Prompts
- Between Doctor Strange and Infinity War, Wong and Stephen obviously got closer. I'd love anything set while Stephen is still adjusting to his new life, but where he's also educated/powerful enough that he's capable of getting himself out of trouble more often than not. Maybe something where Wong and Stephen are working together as equals for the first time, or Wong helping Stephen settle in as the new head of the New York sanctum?
- Five times Stephen fell asleep in the library alone + one time he fell asleep with Wong
- Wong clearly knew something of Stephen's plan in Endgame -- I think their exchange is something like "Is this everyone?"/"You wanted more?" -- I'd love anything with Wong and Stephen dealing with the fallout from Endgame together (maybe even the aftermath from Tony's funeral.) Stephen having been gone for only a moment (even though he saw as many futures as he did) and Wong having lived through the five years has to be rough.
- *clears throat* Uh, ritual sex magic. Maybe the wards that guard the Sanctums need to be replenished every few years, and nothing replenishes wards like Ritual Sex Magic? (This could be fun for first time/getting together fic, but established Stephen/Wong grudgingly going through with yet another sex ritual do these things never end would also be delightful.)
- Maybe something where Stephen saves Wong's life using his medical knowledge rather than his arcane knowledge? Stephen might not be able to extract a bullet from someone's brain freehand anymore, but he's still a brilliant doctor.

Anything between these two would be great, so long as it doesn't end with Mordo killing Strange or Mordo managing to defeat and indefinitely imprison Strange. (I have soft spots in particular for Strange defeating and peaceably imprisoning Mordo, maybe by limiting his magic, or Mordo and Strange temporarily allying themselves to fight a common enemy, before letting each other walk away.)
- Extending their teacher/student dynamic: maybe being a practitioner of the mystic arts makes sex more complicated, and it's Mordo's responsibility to show Stephen how to keep his new powers under control?
- *clears throat* Uh, related to the above: ritual sex magic.
- How does Endgame change things?
- Tony/Stephen is such a perfect fit for one of my favorite tropes/dynamics: belligerent pining. Maybe one (or both?) of them is sublimating their attraction to the other by being even more of a dick than usual.
- In a timeline where Thanos never gets the gauntlet, Stephen struggles with visions/dreams/memories of Tony bleeding over from another timeline.
- Magic shenanigans are always welcome and work so well for this ship. Maybe Tony gets cursed/hit with a wayward spell, and Stephen is the only one who can help him. Or what if on a (strictly professional!) visit to the Sanctum, a Relic chooses Tony, even though he's not a sorceror?
James "Rhodey" Rhodes/Nebula
Every minute Rhodey and Nebula spent together during Endgame was a great one. Most of the ideas I have for them are based on Endgame and its events playing out how they did in the movie, but anything for them in a canon divergence would be delightful as well.
- After Tony's funeral, Nebula and Rhodey sharing memories about Tony to try and comfort each other/just because they don't know what else to do. Maybe Nebula telling Rhodey about she and Tony kept themselves busy on the Benatar.
- Rhodey and Nebula catching up with each other after the events of Endgame and Nebula admitting when she was kidnapped/how she was tortured/that she killed her past self leading to Rhodey/Nebula h/c?
- Anything about Nebula and Rhodey finding even more common ground between them, or about them discovering what's different about their experiences. Nebula was a trained killer -- even though Rhodey was a pilot & then War Machine, that's a huge difference! Maybe something with Rhodey helping Nebula adjust to living on Earth, or even Rhodey traveling in space with Nebula (& any other spacefaring Marvel characters you'd care to include) and Nebula helping Rhodey adjust!
